Livestream & Broadcast.

Camera systems for churches: the livestream and the room’s screens fed from the same cameras, placed where they keep the room looking like itself.

One signal chain, two audiences.

At First Presbyterian Baton Rouge, the broadcast install added Panasonic PTZ cameras placed to catch the platform, the choir loft and wide congregation views. The camera positions were chosen to keep the room’s look intact, and the cabling is threaded through the existing balcony structure, hidden in the architecture.

A dedicated switcher and controller route the camera feeds. The same signal chain feeds the in-room IMAG screens and the livestream output: the same camera positions, the same color grade, and one production team running both from the booth.

The livestream there was added to a system that already existed. The install brought the hardware and signal paths that gave the team a real broadcast workflow on top of it.

Cameras, switching, and one feed.

Positions for the room

PTZ cameras placed for the platform, the choir loft and wide congregation views, in positions that keep the room’s look intact. At First Presbyterian, Panasonic PTZs.

02 · Switching

Control in the booth

A dedicated switcher and controller route the camera feeds, so one production team runs the cameras for the room and for the stream from the same position.

03 · Signal

One chain, two outputs

The same feeds reach the in-room IMAG screens and the livestream output, with the same camera positions and color grade on both.

Two churches, on camera.

Cameras were one of five phases over nine years, after the stage pockets and before the audio console and the lighting. The newest lighting phase fills in what the room needs to read on camera and from the back row.
