The Chapel at LSU lIGHTING

Problem
The existing front wash lighting was uneven, harsh, and insufficient for camera capture. Shadows obscured key platform areas, making live and streamed services inconsistent in quality.
The rear and upper wall areas lacked backlight and separation, creating a flat appearance for both the audience and video feeds.

Solutions
We implemented a new front lighting system featuring precision-matched fixtures to ensure balanced skin tones and clarity. With careful aiming and dimmer profiling, the new system provides smooth coverage across all stage zones.
We added architectural back lighting and overhead fills to define depth and contour. This brought the sanctuary’s natural wood and ceiling structure into play, producing a layered, cinematic feel that supports both in-person and broadcast experiences.
